Notice of Tuition Updates
Effective Summer 2026, 51社区 will be making several changes to our tuition, fees, and full-time status definition. Please review the information below carefully to understand how these changes may affect you. For additional information, please review the FAQ below.

Technology Fee
Effective Summer 2026, the Technology Fee will increase to $250 per term.
For new students enrolling in graduate programs in Summer 2026 or later, the following status and tuition policies will apply:
Changes to Full-Time Enrollment Status for Graduate Students
Beginning Summer 2026, the definition of full-time enrollment for graduate students will change for new students only.
- Full Time:听9 units or more
- Less than Full Time:听8 or fewer units
This change applies to all programs except doctoral programs.
Important Note for Current Students: If you are actively enrolled in a graduate program during Spring 2026, you will be grandfathered under the current policy (6 units = full-time) if you remain continuously enrolled until program completion. See the FAQ below for more information about maintaining eligibility under current policy.
Changes to Graduate Tuition
- Full Time flat rate tuition: $13,080 (9鈥15 units) per term
- Less than Full Time (fewer than 9 credits):听$1,090 per unit
This flat-rate tuition applies to all programs except Tax and Law programs. New students in Tax and Law programs will pay a per-credit rate. Information about applicable rates for Tax and Law can be found below.
Again, students actively enrolled in a program during Spring 2026 will continue to be billed at their current per-unit rate until program completion so long as remain continuously enrolled. See the FAQ below for more information about maintaining eligibility under current policies.
New Tuition Rate:听Beginning Summer 2026, tuition will be $850 per unit听for all undergraduate students. This change applies to all students, both new and continuing.

Additional Fees

Commitment Deposit (if applicable):
- Domestic students who are offered admission will be required to submit a $250 commitment fee in order to accept their offer of admission.
- All international students seeking to study on an F1/J1 visa must submit a $250 commitment fee听to confirm enrollment intent. In specific contractual agreements, GGU may waive the听commitment fee听for some international partnerships. Please check with your agent or enrollment advisor to see if you qualify for a waiver.
The commitment fee is non-refundable.

*Students who wish to register for courses after the Add Period must submit written approval (e-mail is acceptable) of the course instructor and a senior school administrator of the school in which the course is offered and pay a $100 late fee. The fee is assessed only once per term regardless of the number of courses for which students register after the Add Period. The fee is assessed even if students are adding different sections of courses that they dropped the same term.

Payment Options
The university only accepts payment digitally. Electronic check, credit card, debit card, and wire transfer are accepted. The student鈥檚 GGU issued-ID number must appear on or be submitted with all forms of payment to ensure they are credited to the appropriate account. The following credit cards are accepted: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. Payments may be made via your Self-Service account. Debit cards are treated the same as credit cards.
Effective October 1, 2025, all credit and debit card transactions will incur a non-refundable service fee equal to 2.95% of gross charges. Transactions submitted prior to October 1, 2025 will continue to be charged the current 2.75% fee.
Please note: the updated 2.95% rate applies to all payments received on or after October 1, including recurring or monthly scheduled payments.
Payments in amounts greater than actual or anticipated registration charges for the term will be canceled.
For students who wish to avoid a processing fee, payments may be made via eCheck at no additional cost. International students may also pay via听 wire transfer 鈥 via Flywire (no processing fee).
Policies
Registration constitutes a financial contract between you and the university. You will be responsible for paying all registration charges associated with your enrollment after the end of the term鈥檚 refund period. You may wish to add/drop courses before the term鈥檚 refund period ends. Consult the Academic Calendar for the 鈥渓ast day to drop without tuition charge鈥 to determine the end of the term鈥檚 refund period. See the Withdrawal Policy below for more information.
Student Accounting Services
Enrollment constitutes a financial contract between you and the University. Your rights to university services and benefits are contingent upon your making all payments as agreed upon. If payments of amounts owed to the university are not made when they become due, the university has the right to cancel your registration and/or administratively withdraw you from the current term, withhold your grades, diplomas, scholastic certificates and degrees, and impound your final exams. Failure to maintain good financial standing with the university will result in denied participation in any deferred payment plans and/or some forms of financial aid. In addition, balances due the university are reported to the credit agencies, which may impact your credit ratings.
Prior to registering for a new term, you must pay any outstanding balances from any preceding terms. If you do not pay your outstanding balances or make payment arrangements satisfactory to the university, you will not be permitted to register. This policy applies to any outstanding balances with 51社区, including those with the 51社区 Bookstore, or any other company that operates a concession or service contracted by the university.
To complete the enrollment process, you must choose a payment option (see听Financing Options) for the term and complete any additional steps required for that option. You must complete these steps by the payment due date for the term as published in the听Academic Calendar. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your registration.
The university accepts payment, digitally in US dollars only. This includes debit card, credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover), wire transfers, and electronic check. In addition, the university offers payment options, some of which require verification of eligibility prior to registration.
Withdrawal from a course (commonly known as 鈥渄ropping鈥) is official once the university registrar has been notified. Notification must be in writing and may be submitted online, delivered in-person, by standard mail, by fax, or by electronic mail. The electronic mail must originate from your personal or business account. The date the written notice is received will be the official date of withdrawal. Oral (spoken) notification is insufficient. Written notice to an instructor is also insufficient.
Tuition will be credited as follows. Fees are not credited except in the case of a course being canceled by the university. Tuition credits remain in your account. Refunds are issued upon written request. If you are a financial aid recipient who withdraws from all courses or drops below half time, you are subject to the Return of Title IV calculations, which determine what financial aid ramifications will occur based on the official date of withdrawal. You also may be required to return funds for which you are no longer eligible based on these calculations. Furthermore, the return of funds may result in a balance due on your account.
Regular Courses
Regular courses are those that generally meet for the entire length of the term or for four or more weeks. Tuition will be credited as shown below.

Intensive Courses
Intensive courses are those that are shorter than four weeks in length and generally meet more than once a week. Tuition will be credited as shown below.

Refund of a credit balance resulting from tuition adjustment in accordance with the above-stated Withdrawal Policy will be made if requested in writing by the student. Refunds are processed either as a direct deposit to the student鈥檚 checking or savings account or as a paper check mailed to the student鈥檚 address on record in GGU鈥檚 student information system. It is recommended that you request direct deposit of the refund as it is the most efficient and expeditious way to receive a refund. To sign up for direct deposit you must provide your bank account information via our secure website, login to听.
If you are a financial aid recipient, credit balances resulting from tuition adjustments (Example: from 9 units to 6 units) may be reviewed for adjustments in the financial aid award per federal regulations. Credit balances resulting from complete withdrawal from all classes must be calculated under the Withdrawal Policy and are typically refunded to the appropriate financial aid program or lender. For additional information on financial aid refunds refer to the chapter 鈥淪tudent Financial Planning,鈥 Return of Title IV Funds section of the GGU catalog.
No refunds will be made by virtue of curtailment of services brought about as a result of strikes, natural disasters, civil insurrection, riots or the threats thereof, or other causes beyond the control of the university.
Student Accounting Services bills the Department of Defense for the full tuition cost of approved courses after the tuition deadline for the term. When a student withdraws completely from a course being covered by TA, the University is required to determine the amount of TA assistance earned. The amount of TA earned is determined on a pro-rata basis. For example, if a student completes 30 percent of the payment period, the student will have earned 30 percent of the assistance the student was originally scheduled to receive. Once the student has completed more than 60 percent of the payment period, the student has earned all the assistance that the student was scheduled to receive for that period. Please note that any amount deemed unearned will be returned to the DOD and the student is responsible for that amount now due to GGU.

Students receiving Title IV Federal Student Aid funds (i.e., Stafford, PLUS and Perkins loans) who withdraw from all of their courses for a term (complete withdrawal) must notify the Financial Aid Office after 鈥渄ropping鈥 their courses via GGU4YOU or by submitting Registration Request forms to the Registrar鈥檚 Office. In some cases, when students go on approved leaves of absence or withdraw from law school, the Financial Aid Office must return Title IV Federal Student Aid funds to their lenders. The calculations for return of such funds is based on the students鈥 official withdrawal date, as indicated on their Withdrawal or Request for Leave forms. If students do not submit the forms, their official withdrawal date will be determined from the date of complete withdrawal from all courses for the term. Students may be required to return funds for which they are no longer eligible based on this calculation. Up through the 60 percent point in each term, a pro rata schedule is used to determine the amount of Title IV funds students have earned at the time of withdrawal. After the 60 percent point of the term, students have earned 100 percent of the Title IV funds, and no return of federal student aid will be required.
The Federal Return of Title IV funds calculation is separate from the 51社区 School of Law Withdrawal Tuition Credit Policy. All students receiving Federal Student Aid are subject to this federal policy. In addition, students withdrawing from the School of Law or taking leaves of absence must complete online loan counseling exit interviews.

If institutional scholarship recipients withdraw during their first semester of law school, the Financial Aid Office will use the 鈥淩eturn of Title IV鈥 calculations to determine if the scholarship has been 鈥渆arned鈥 or if a portion of it will be reversed (see above). This applies to first semester 1Ls only. After their first semester, if institutional scholarship recipients withdraw from law school in a given term, their scholarships are revoked and the students must pay back their scholarships, as determined by the terms above.
If you are confronted with an unexpected and serious circumstance that requires you to withdraw from your courses, you may petition the Financial Petition Committee to reverse a portion of your tuition charges using this form. Your petition should explain, in detail, the circumstances, the correlation between these circumstances and the need for you to withdraw from the course(s), and what actions you have taken to resolve or prevent such an event from occurring in subsequent terms. In addition, you must provide any relevant third-party documentation. The university will not consider petitions that are undocumented or that are based upon pre-existing conditions. All petitions must be submitted to the Office of Student Accounting Services no later than 60 days after the last day of the term in which the course(s) was dropped. The university will respond to all petitions in writing. You should allow a minimum of 30 working days to hear from us as we are required to verify all facts from university sources prior to review by the Financial Petition Committee. If your petition is approved and any adjustments to your tuition result in a credit balance on your account, the university will apply this credit balance toward future tuition charges within the next twelve-month period. If you are a financial aid recipient and you have a financial petition approved, credit balances typically are refunded to the appropriate financial aid program or lender.

No. While the new tuition rate will apply to all undergraduate students, GGU is taking the required steps to ensure these changes are covered by applicable veteran student benefits programs. Students who have 100% 9/11 Yellow Ribbon eligibility will not experience any increase in your out-of-pocket costs. Student Financial Services will work with students who have less than 100% 9/11 Yellow Ribbon eligibility to address any financial hardship that this tuition policy change may cause.
Current students that do not enroll for three or more consecutive terms are required to re-apply and re-enroll. If they are re-admitted, they will be subject to the new tuition policies and status requirements. They will no longer be grandfathered under prior policies. We encourage all current students to work with their academic advisors to ensure they do not experience an unintended change to their tuition or full-time status requirements.
