Doctoral Writing and Research Methods

The course facilitates the student鈥檚 development of writing and research skills that meet the doctoral program鈥檚 writing style standards. This style consists of direct, economical, precise expository prose, written to the standard of a publishable doctoral dissertation and professional publication. This course uses a combination of recorded lecture videos, graded writing/editing assessments, and online class activities to develop the writing skills necessary to undertake doctoral level writing and ethical research. These require a high level of proficiency, as well as the ability to analyze, integrate, and synthesize the written work of others.
